Seeking only the finest in the world

The Gold Coffee Company travels around the globe seeking only finest coffee beans from the finest plantations to compliment our Kona, Hawaii coffee beans. From the lush, tropical jungles of Costa Rica to the rich soils of Ethiopia, only a handful of carefully selected coffee plantations meet our demands for superior coffee.

Twenty five years later, we continue our quest, traversing seven seas and sampling thousands of coffee beans.

Sustainable practices

We believe in sustainable agriculture practices by implementing agricultural systems which minimize the impact on the environment while preserving the cultural and social conditions of our workers.

Green coffee sourcing

Gold Coffee has also been certified through the rigorous sustainable coffee guidelines of the Starbucks CAFE (Coffee And Farmer Equity) Practices.  Starbucks has its own comprehensive set of measurable standards for its green coffee sourcing developed in partnership with Conservation International and an independent third-party company, Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) to encompass standards in four categories: product quality, economic accountability as well as social responsibility and environmental leadership.

Compared to other highly-regarded certifications, CAFE Practices differs by evaluating not only the ecological and sustainability practices which impact the environment but encompasses the ethical and social responsibility to its agricultural workers. Farmers must demonstrate that they are protecting the rights of their workers by ensuring fair and non-discriminatory hiring and employment policies as well as safe and humane working and living conditions. Gold Coffee has been certified to meet all of Starbucks’ ethical sourcing guidelines of coffee farmers who are actively striving to improve the quality of life of those who work their land.  Each year, millions of coffee workers around the world have positively been impacted by farmers upholding these standards. Our plantation is part of the planned goal of 100% Starbucks Coffee ethically sourced by 2015.  To learn more about Starbucks CAFE Practices, click here.
